This is a bug report and a design suggestion:

What happened: This morning I recorded a couple of short calls. Those all created files .But then I called for a 35 minute interview. When I was done, there was no file! After that I tried testing it with new calls, and although the blue "enable call" button was showing on skype and the blue logo was at teh bottom of my screen, I wasn't recording files.

After I rebooted my machine and restarted, it seemed fine, but I missed that opportunity to get the interview and it was my only shot.

So now I'm nervous to keep using Power Gramo. So I have both a bug report and a design suggestion.

The bug is that it just stopped working. But I have no idea why and can't reproduce it through any steps, so that's probably not helpful to you.

The design suggestion is that I wish there was a way to tell if a file was recording. Right now there's no way to know if it worked till you hang up and see if there is a file or not. And of course it's too late if there's no file.

I would like an indicator that runs constantly when you are successfully recording a call. Then you can just keep glancing at it to make sure it's working, just like if you are using a regular mini recorder and can tell by looking at the levels.

I know that you do have a pop-up that comes up at the beginning of a recording and you have to click "No" if you wanted to keep recording, but I disabled that because once I accidentally hit Yes and lost a call that way. I wish there was just some kind of icon that only appeared when a file was creating. Otherwise, you have to wait till the end of the call to know if it worked.

Is there a way already and I just don't see it?

The same thing happened to me. There is no way to know if it is recording or not. I have bought full version to avoid such problems, but it didn't help. Sometimes it records sometimes not. Sorry for my english.

Some people reports that this might be happening when PowerGramo starts with Windows and start before Skype is launched. So I suggest you to fire up PowerGramo after Skype is ready. Hope this helps!

Same here, whats up with the software/ There is no consistant recording activity. I have the upgrade and I still do not get the Memo pop up, nor the query or option to record? PG is a great and simple user program,but it is not behaving the same each day on my desktop, yet is flawless on my laptop. Whats the deal? Are there any issues that tech support could list as to what to chaek or why this is occuring. I got lucky and was able to record an interview and it came out perfect, but I need this to be on point each time.

I also noticed that during recording the lower right hand ico in blue was flashing, so I knew it was recording. What gives ?????

Is that how you are suppossed to know it is recording? The blue icon down in the tray flashes? I didn't know that.

I start up Powergramo only when needed and have had this happen a couple times too. I do, however, leave the initial dialog box (do you want to record this call) so that I know it's working. If that doesn't pop up then I know it's not recording.
